Executive Summary
A Tournament Born to Change Lives
The Hon. Veronica Maina Supercup 2025 is a county-wide football tournament under The Veronica Maina Foundation, held across Murang'a County with the twin objectives of identifying and celebrating local sporting talent and using sport as a platform for youth empowerment, community cohesion, and environmental stewardship.
Officially Launched and Kickstarted on 12 October 2025, the Supercup brought together hundreds of soccer teams from all 35 wards in Muranga County, in a structured, competitive, and professionally-run competition.
The tournament offers meaningful prize incentives for winning teams, and runs alongside a program of mentorship and life skills training.
It is an honor to have launched the Veronica Maina Foundation Super cup — a football tournament born from a passion to harness the energy and creativity of our young people. Sport has the power to transform lives: it builds discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Through this tournament we aim not only to celebrate talent but to create pathways for our youth to grow, learn, and contribute positively to their communities. I thank our executive committee, players, partners, volunteers, coaches, coordinators and the people of Murang'a for making this vision a reality. Together we will ensure that every child with ambition has the opportunity to shine.

The Future of the Supercup
The Road Ahead

As the Hon. Veronica Maina Supercup continues to grow into Murang'a's most unifying and impactful sporting initiative, its future at the constituency level shines even brighter. What began as a countywide platform for identifying raw talent and promoting community cohesion is now evolving into a strategic, structured, and sustainable football ecosystem.
In the near future, the Supercup is poised to decentralize into stronger constituency-based leagues, each operating with clear calendars, improved logistics, and enhanced coaching standards. Constituencies will become the primary hubs of early talent development.
With improved structures at the constituency level, the Supercup will also champion the establishment of youth development academies, ward-level coaching clinics, and women's football empowerment programs. Grassroots football will no longer depend on raw effort alone but will be supported by organized training, certified coaches, and standardized equipment.
The expansion also holds great promise for fan culture and community identity. Constituency derbies, rivalries, and seasonal tournaments will deepen the pride of local supporters and build traditions that can be passed down through generations.
Ultimately, the future of the Supercup lies in creating a sustainable, inclusive, and professional football ecosystem — one that not only produces talented athletes but empowers youth with purpose, discipline, and opportunity.
